Project update: Seven Seas

The Seven Seas project was planned for 7 ships, but it was expanded to 10. I just dropped Endurance, so I am halfway through and here is a project update. The collection is trying to stay on the lines of impressionist and contemporary style in creating these 10 articles.

1 - The Last Wind

This maritime painting is 104X140 cm and is created in mixed media on thick canvas. I intentionally tried to use the least number of hues in this article, i.e. only blue and brown. I think I managed to capture the energy of a scene where a frigate is chased by another one. The sails are fully set, and the sea is rough. Read more about The Last Wind on the artwork's page here.

2 - Beyond The Horizon

This article is perfect to be placed behind a sofa as it is measured 160 X 100 cm when stretched on a wooden frame. The main colours used are turquoise and white, which give the impression of ice and a cold climate in the Arctic. Beyond the Horizon depicts a triple-masted ship in front of a giant glacier, which has been naturally eroded and formed a gate to the other world.
